Just a reminder fellas that at our upcoming State Series race at B&B Hobbies this weekend that ONLY ROAR approved (non-cut) tires will be allowed in the race. Please read up on the rules below if you are unsure bout any tire/wheel combo you might be planning on using.

From the 2006 ROAR Rule Book.....

9.4.4.7 Tire rules
9.4.4.7.1 Tires must be rubber only and currently available to the public (i.e. in hobby shops at
least 2 weeks prior to the event) as a Monster Truck tire. No tires created for other
vehicle types even if they meet the specifications will be allowed.
9.4.4.7.2 Cutting or modifying the tread is allowed. Modifying the tire carcass is prohibited (i.e. no
"CUT" tires - whether they started as a Monster Truck tire or not). Trimming the
mounting bead of a production Monster Truck tire in order to fit a legal rim is allowed.
9.4.4.7.3 All tire measurements reference the carcass dimensions and do not include the tread
depth or width. LP tires are referenced for the minimum 1/8 Truck size and measure the
absolute minimal diameter allowable in the 1/8 Truck class.

Luther, are you going to follow ROAR tire rules for the 2010 Series?
Meaning no wide V3 buggy tires/wheels and no VTR Truggy wheels/tires allowed since they are not ROAR Legal?

Ok you guys made me work my ass off on this one. I have talked or emailed with so many people today about these wheels. This class has come a long way since the early days of retrofitting an 1/8th buggy with big tires and truck body. ROAR has layed down some rules on this class and that is a good thing. I have spoken with Tim from Proline, Dawn with ROAR, Kenny and Dennis with FSORS. If you guys can't reach Dennis his phone is dead from all of the calls today. ROAR says they are not legal and won't be in 2010. Because ROAR lifted that rule for part of 2009 we are willing to do the same. We will allow the Pro Line VTR 4.0 wheel in our series through the end of 2009. On January 1st they will no longer be legal unless ROAR ammends the rule. I am sure this will make some of you upset but that is our decision. We spent a lot of time trying to make the right call. Again I am thinking about the racers that have bought and glued these tires and rims for this weekend. I don't want them to have to go spend another 150 bucks at the last minute to get ready for this weekend.
